About Us

The Healthy Schools Team  

Leeds Healthy Schools is part of the Health & Wellbeing Service, Leeds Council Children’s Services directorate. We also provide additional support, resources and training which are available through www.schoolwellbeing.co.uk

The Healthy Schools Team comprises of a specialist team of advisers, with a proven track record of high achievement and a wealth of experience over many years.

What we offer  

We support schools with:

Healthy Schools Status (through the completion of the School Health Check)

Healthy Schools Early Years Status  (through the completion of the Early years School Health Check)

Health Champion Status (through a targeted case study to improve health and wellbeing)

MindMate Friendly Status (through the completion of the SEMH strand on the School Health Check and a MindMate Friendly Assessment) Leeds schools only

MindMate Champion Status (through a targeted case study to improve mental health and wellbeing) For schools that have had an MindMate Friendly Assessment. Leeds schools only. 

PSHE, including Relationships, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Health Education (HE) and Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco Education.

School Food, Nutrition and Cooking.

Citizenship and Sustainability.

Physical Activity.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

Teenage Pregnancy and Parenthood Prevention and Support.

Resilience programme.

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development (SMSC), including British Values and Character Education.

Schools external to Leeds are able to purchase an external Service Level Agreement (SLA). A range of options are available which allows schools to tailor the SLA to suit their needs.
